Start this gentle mat class with a Standing Arm Weight series that will wake up your posture and build the muscles that keep you straight and tall. From there, the mat provides a safe and slow whole body workout that's great for opening the chest and building stability in the hips. Excellent for older folks or beginners who haven't worked out in a while.

Your classes are great Alyssa, but please slow it down a bit.. at home it takes a bit to make sure we are in correct position each time since we have no teacher here with us. Thanks!!!

    Thank you, Alisa!
I know what you mean, I tend to go faster than my usual speed when I do presentations at conferences.
Looking forward to the stretchy morning mat…
    🙂

    I love this workout!
Thank you for your precise and very comprehensible instructions, Alicia.
The only thing I encounter in almost all of the videos is that whenever an
instructor says I should stack up vertebra by vertebra (or any other instruction
to do something slow and attentively), it takes me a lot longer than what
you guys do so I end up lagging behind…
    Seems I am a very slow stacker-upper 😉

By the way, would you consider doing a well rounded stretchy 10-Minute-Morning Mat at some point??
I would be very grateful for that.

Vinya congratulations on being a slow stacker-upper, it sounds like you are doing a great job of being attentive and listening to your body. Take your time and enjoy this process. It’s worth saying that whenever I have a camera pointed at me, I tend to go a little faster through some things 😉 so you’re probably going at exactly the right speed.
I would love to do a stretchy morning mat for you and have added it to my list of workouts to film. Hope to get to it soon so stay tuned.
