In this workshop for teachers Alisa shares verbal cues and hands on tips on how to help your clients achieve the goals of the exercises in the basic Reformer sequence.  This basic order is the foundation of the method and a powerful sequence to have in your toolbox as a teacher because when you have a new client or one who arrives with an injury you can spend your attention understanding your client's needs and how you can address them elsewhere in the studio. Filmed at Pilatesology Studio in Hermosa Beach.

So happy to know it helped you Vicki! I’ll put the Intermediate order on my list for the next workshop we film!

  5. Madhavi Abuja 2 years ago

I know we have the list of all the exercises. Can you also publish the goals for each of the exercises

    • Alisa Wyatt Author

      Hi Madhavi Abuja,
I took the handout down because I didn’t realize when I wrote it out that I was infringing on copyright for the manual it appeared in (The Pilates Studio NY). Since some of the goals appeared in that manual, I can’t write those down either. However, I do say each goal out loud during the workshop so you can figure them out by watching and taking notes.
      All the best! Alisa

Excellent breakdown! I really appreciate your clarity when explaining these exercises to beginning students. Any plans to do a similar video for beginning mat work?

  7. joesmat 3 years ago

I could take lots from this session to my mat movements, which is always finding more relevant muscle I believe.
This was very interesting because, I do like the “hand on” work as it reveals much feedback to the practitioner, and the best Instructors to my way of learning, are those who practice very frequently, otherwise, they cannot articulate the movements properly. Here I think Alisa is constantly relating how the movements work in her body, and thereby, relating it to the practitioner.

Love this order for beginners. Wonderful hands on. Can you publish the handout you referenced?

    • Alisa Wyatt Author

Hi greenmeridian, I took the handout down because I didn’t realize when I wrote it out that I was infringing on copyright for the manual it appeared in (The Pilates Studio NY). Sorry about that–I use the same order in the workshop so you can figure it out :).
