If you’re at a level where the Stomach or Ab Series on the Mat no longer challenges you, try doing it while hanging from an overhead bar. It’s an incredible challenge to stabilize your body while moving your legs here because hanging removes the support that you get from gravity and the mat. Try it today and make a mental note of whether you can keep from swinging or bending your elbows while you move. With regular practice, you’ll be able to move only the parts that count. Visit Victoria at her studio Pilates66, on NYC’s Upper East Side.

Thanks for sharing. Great for my stronger clients. Also, I train a pole dancer and calisthenic junkies so it really is good for improving grip strength and lifting the legs for inverts.

Wow! Thanks so much for reminding me of a quick series I’d all but forgotten! Fyi for people without a Cadillac — I got so excited to do this that I didn’t want to wait to be in the studio tomorrow and just popped down on the mat. Still quite a challenge; my upper back feels wonderful and the mat gives good feedback about those little spots that might not want to stay straight and lifted. Loved this:)

Dang these are hard!!! Enjoyed watching the circles. I’ll keep practicing. Someday I’ll have more than one I can be proud of. 🙂

Love it! This a wonderful variation for my stronger clients that want a challenge, and for me too. I did it right after I watched your video. It felt great in my upper back, “lats”, and grip too. I played around with a hanging criss-cross as well. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.

Thanking you for sharing this arm series. I never knew such a routine existed in the Classical Pilates Method.
