In this teaching tips video, Lori Coleman Brown and her student Dominique demonstrate how they have been working her shoulder blade and rib connection to awaken the non-dominant side of her body. Dominique has scoliosis which you’ll see is dramatically improved through the muscular activation shown here. The unique tweaks to classical exercises Lori uses will help you to see the possibilities available to you within the system to achieve your clients’ goals. For instance, Lori allows Dominique to find her own internal connection which means at times working a normally square exercise at an angle which helps her to unwind her asymmetry; the lesson being that it can be useful to move away from the cardinal plane for a client who is not symmetrical.
