Follow Brett through this advanced workout that beautifully integrates elements of what he has learned from First Generation teachers Romana Kryzanowska, Kathy Grant and Jay Grimes. You’ll love Brett’s dry sense of humor that arrives just in the nick of time when the moves get tough, while his talent for creative cues bring the classical mat alive with fresh information. A few super advanced moves are included in this workout such as the High Bridge. Always be sure to practice any unfamiliar exercises with your instructor first. Brett finishes the workout with an exhilarating set of Romana’s Jumps! Filmed at Brett Howard's studio, The Pilates Haus in Jersey City, NJ.

Well that was a great test of ability and strength after the Christmas festivities! I love the jumps but why is it gravity increases on a body over 50!!
Happy New year Brett! Keep the sessions coming!

Brett, this is a fantastic class. The pace, timing, and transitions are wonderful. This is a great example of using control rather than speed to achieve a super advanced level. Thank you for this video.

Thank you this was great. I really liked the holding the roll down on the challenging part in both directions. Control balance I still have to work on. Great class.

Mr Howard, HIGH BRIDGE is a beautiful exercise. In the set up, I can get the top of my head on the mat, but when I try to extend through my arms to hike up – I am unable to fully extend my arms fully. Any suggestion how to progress this? I have no apparatus. Thank you very much.

You may practice bridging against the wall. Stand or kneel a short distance away from the wall, than arch back bringing your hands flat on the wall. You may hold the position or bend and stretch the arms. Romana taught me the kneeling version as part of the Reformer on the Mat. I know you don’t have apparatus but the spine corrector is a wonderful place to practice this as well.
      All the best!
