      Romana always used a heel when she taught and changed to height during the day. Try it !!! It keeps your bottom working all day!

      My teacher always had a heel- and if you look Clara did as well- All old ballet teacher teaching shoes have heels as well. I like them as they keep my legs, feet and bottom active all day instead of sinking back into a tennis shoe.

    I am so excited that you understand my thought process on the method. I am actually working on a manual that breaks the mat down in such a way – Varistions included as well as threads and building blocks. It is four years in the making… Hopefully by 2016 it will be done

    Learning the road map that runs through all the Mat Exercises is “key” to understanding the entire Methodology, is it not?
    Turning to the original Single Leg Circle as in Return to Life – this exercise becomes a more complex interpretation of the Red Thread Stability I always feel. Without having the wooden dowels, if you place your arms in the same position, and then work the exercise, it really does challenge ones ability to stabilize properly!
    Finally, the last exercise – PUSH UP – Not seen enough in mat videos! Again, without Apparatus, we need to use natures provision of the bodyweight and gravity to build strength and thereby true stability.
    Seems to me the thread that runs the Mat sequence road map would be the very Foundation of Mr Pilates Methodology!
    There must be lots more to come forth on this piece of work. Very clever material.
