If you’re a runner, your body will really benefit from this brief workout that will help you move more efficiently and shave minutes off your time. Victoria works with her husband Nick, and focuses on the imbalances that come from running—tight hamstrings and hips—and can cause problems when ignored. She also adds Push Ups and the Skiing exercise from the Reformer (done here on the mat) to build stability, as well as a fantastic Hamstring Stretch that you can do with a park bench or chair. Try this workout on a smartphone at the park before or after a run to prepare the body or stretch things out. Filmed at Pilates on 66th, Victoria’s studio on NYC’s Upper East Side.

    What a nice gentle but assertive way you have. The cues were great and didnt have your husband grumbling at you. My gym rat husband is not a fan of me telling him what to do, I learned from you…thanks! And I teach in a yoga studio also, and will use yoga blocks for the push-ups, and they chairs for a gentle yoga class that I will use for the leg stretches, yay! Stealing ;)))

    I’m soooooooooo happy to see you, I like you and the different things you did in this class( I mean Matwork , push up, standing lunges and Madam Barrel!
    Any plans to teach a barrel class? Or spine corrector.

    Great flexibility for a male runner! Victoria, Does Nick line up at the starting line for a race with his right leg back? His right hip flexors seem more open than the left. You guys make a nice team 🙂

      He has two injuries on his left side, and it is his weaker side. He was very good humored about being my student, he usually trains with Sara (the instructor on the left in the previous workout). We are all a Pilates family here!
