Wow. That was humbling!! I have a lot of work to do. 🙂

arlynnemc, I guarantee if you do this class (or any others) 3x a week, in one month, you will look back on your comment and high five yourself. The progress you make in Pilates sneaks up on you so it’s great to know you have something to work for!

Thanks Alisa! I love this site – the classes are really good. I think I’m hooked. 🙂 I’ll keep you posted on my progress…day four on a row today.

I really liked the cue you used for Teaser III: the long balloon someone steps on. Briljant!
This kind of cues make that mind/body connection.
Watching your videos here in Holland and I love them!

Erica thank you! I came up with that one on my own but will freely admit that my most brilliant cues come from taking class with other teachers :D.

Oh, Alisa! Thank you for being direct and to the point! How refreshing! It gets tedious when the Pilates rambles. . . and rambles! Bravo!

I love this class. I love how there are some exercises I’ve never done before and just when I’m thinking, ‘what is the point of this exercise and how does it help my body’, you explain exactly that. Your classes rock, Alisa.

LOVED that intense Kathy Grant start and the evil pushup variations – AWESOME!!! Will be doing this one again (and inflicting my next class I teach with both!). Thx!

I love how descriptive you are each movement. How do you talk the whole time?! Should I be trying to do it too and are there any additional benefits by doing so? Just curious. Great workout><3

    • Alisa Wyatt

Thank you!! I don’t know how I talk the whole time, it’s not easy! As for benefits, Joe Pilates always said you should be able to talk while you’re doing your workout to show that you’re not gasping for air. If you can talk (but you’re still working hard) it’s a good sign you are moving at the right pace and breathing properly.

Loved the workout. Thanks Alisa. Great pace.

Wow! I thought I’d give this workout a try… It was challenging but felt great. I will continue with the beginner workouts to gain strength and flexibility and come back to this one in a week or so to measure my progress 🙂

    • Alisa Wyatt

Hooray for trying classes that push your limits! You will get there in no time, keep up the hard work!

Hello – Can I ask you please:

The third last exercise, starting on hands and knees with one leg extended and PULSING UP X 10; Then the PUSH UP with leg extended X 5 – was this a Romana addition to the matwork? Really like these different mat sessions. Keep them coming please with the little pieces of history. Thank you very much.

    • Alisa Wyatt

Hi, The move that you refer to is not something Romana added. I use it to bring awareness to using the back of the body for those who let their bottoms stick up in a push up position–I want them to learn to make one long line which is why I allow the knee down during the push ups and add the leg pulse so they can learn to use the glute muscles to hold the plank. It’s my own means to moving toward the true push up position. My other reason is a mental one in that many of us (speaking from experience here) feel like total failures when it comes to push ups, so doing them on one knee can be empowering :).

Favorite it is! Thanks, and to Jack for framing the workouts so elegantly…as though each part of the frame makes the whole thing better.
