Teachers looking for ways to get more out of your clients on the Reformer will find something to learn from every moment of this session. In it, Kathryn Ross Nash takes her student, Valerio Donnianni through an Advanced workout that refines his every action from his breath control, transitions, spinal alignment, coordination and so much more. Each exercise here will give you a new skill for success whether it's Kathi's cues, her way of encouraging and supporting her student or how she uses her hands to challenge him. We can't resist mentioning that Valerio (a Pilates Instructor himself) happens to be a 6 time Olympic Athlete, his sport is shooting. This session was filmed at the 2013 Classical Pilates Conference Chicago for info on attending future workshops like this one, please visit The Pilates Core. this is a great lesson – I’ve observed it a few times. Valerio is wonderful and the student-teacher connection SO fun to watch. Kathi- with respect to box behind for stomach massage – I think you were trying to get Valerio to connect w his lower back more. What are the bodies/situations where you would use this approach?

hard to say without a body in front of me… but it is helpful for those who sit back and can’t lift.

I learned so much from this lesson! I love that you put the box behind him on stomach massage. I think I will use this for a few people. Thank you so much! And I learned a lot of great spotting techniques.

Wow, two of my wonderful favorite friends doing this magical Art of Contrology (a.k.a.: Pilates)! What a treat! Ms. Kathi as the Instructor and my other good friend, Valerio, as the grasshopper! I learned so much to now guide me in my own approach to achieving a deeper execution of the work which I can then pass on this knowledge to others! Thank you so very much. Living out West, especially AZ, can make you sometimes feel so disconnected! However thanks to my generous friend, Alisa and Pilatesology and so many of my other friends who are seasoned instructors, I can continue the process correctly. Thank you all! I am truly blessed!
