Niedra takes Lori through a mini workshop on how to elongate and re-introduce mobility to stiff spines on the Mat. She explains how muscle compression and closing of space around the spine leads to the creation of stagnation and tightness, resulting in immobility. She shares ways to stretch and achieve maximum length of the spine in order to create more space for the muscles, joints and connective tissue to function correctly and regain their proper shape and strength. The key is to keep the focus point of the exercise in mind while allowing the evolution-like process of correcting the body to take place, instead of trying to fix it all at once. Visit Niedra at: http://spirit-moves.com/

Excellent. I love the hands-on during extension work. These techniques will help so many people. Thank you Neidra.

For years, we have been told to pull your rib cage in!
Instruction with fancy Choreography – Bendy bodies demonstrating – Makes nice images.
They even tell us Joe Pilates had a flared rib cage! If he were alive, would you dare tell him that face to face!
I think this is one of the very few examples, I have seen, that placed so much emphasis on the posterior chain group of muscles, whilst accommodating the front body appropriately,
which I have found to be so important in my practice..
    Good Stuff we have here.

Such a Wonderful example that it’s not “performing the exercise”– it’s using the exercise for its best goal… and not worrying about the other things being picture perfect. Thank you Niedra!

Thank you all for your comments and observations. Yes, Lori was awesome, and yes, I LOVE hands on as bodies are like clay and can normally be molded ay more than people realize.

I have a soft spot for teachers – such a big hearted group of people focused on service.

    Thank you ,

Another great class by Niedra! Thank you for explaining how and where to get more length in the body. Lori looks so much taller and more relaxed at the end of this session.

LOVED this class! This is the kind of stuff as a teacher I am Lookin for. How to look at the body & understand what the root cause of what the body is presenting & how to address it. Brava! To Niedra for being so hands on & to Lori for allowing her to get in & change your body.
    Thank you! 🙂
