Joe Pilates Home in Becket MA – P2

Watch the preview

In this 2nd part of our visit to Joe and Clara Pilates' summer home in Becket, Massachusetts, you'll see exclusive footage of the apparatus that was left, practically untouched since the 1960s, in the studio Joe built there. Sean Gallagher shows us original items like the V Beds Joe and Clara slept on, an early version of the Arm Chair, a Reformer built for home use, a Cadillac, an Electric Chair that was originally a Wunda Chair, Magic Circles, and more. Don't miss our previous videos: Joseph Pilates Home in Becket, MA and Joe Pilates at Jacob's Pillow. We are grateful to Sean Gallagher for sharing this treasure, you can find him at Performing Arts Physical Therapy.

Just amazing that these items survived the years there in Becket and are now being intentionally preserved. Also amazing how faithful today’s equipment is to the originals. Thank you for the tour Sean, Alisa and Jack – this is wonderful!

    Really great to see this!
Thank you Alisa, Sean and crew.

And Sean: maybe you should leave it the way it is, more historical value, I think.
I hope to visit your place sometime and see it all for myself…
