Kathi will have your head spinning with all of her fun variations in this Intermediate/Advanced mat session that emphasizes side bending, using your Powerhouse, and slimming your hips. As always, the train that is Kathi’s energy is unstoppable—if you ever suffer from lack of motivation she’s your ticket to get back on track. She saves a surprise for the very end that many of Romana's apprentices will know well and everyone else will find stretchy, challenging and graceful (perhaps not graceful the first time but keep practicing). Apparatus note: Kathi and her students Elvy & Barbara are using a foldable Gratz mat with foot strap and handles for this video. The strap and handles add to the depth of the work but are not required. For info on training with Kathi visit: KathiRossNash.com.

Kathi, Kathi, Kathi. Ah, another workout, another day “made” by your awesome childlike spirit and demeanor that I admire and empathize with so much.
    1. I LOVE how you own your mistakes and errors — you’d never hear an “oops”, “my bad”, “sorry” or anything if you forgot a step, got the count wrong or something. It’s always “I LIED!”. I love it, owning up to your inner Evil Queen, that’s the spirit! Mwahahaha!

    2. This could be because I’m Jewish am used to making fun of these things in a way that would make non-Jews quite uncomfortable, but the leg positions in that final stretch before the splits reminded me of a swastika! 😀 I know, I’m bad, but you gotta admit that it’s a pretty straightforward description — people could never get that pose wrong after that reference! 🙂

    3. I love the dancer-esque feel you bring into every pose. Pilates already brought me grace I’ve never imagined having, but your transitions make me feel like I’m performing Swan Lake. And this comes from a girl who is far from a tomboy, but still can’t help but feel like a drag queen with high heels. I’m far from graceful! 😀 Maybe with your help, I’ll get there some day!

    4. Did I mention how much I love you and your workouts, Kathi? You’re NEVER boring! I come to you when I want to play hard, work hard, and ROCK HARD! You’re fun. You should consider changing your name to Kathryn Fun Nash, so people would know what they’re dealing with ahead of time. Nah, you know what, surprise them with your awesomeness, that’s better.

    5. I’ll be back! You know I will! 😉

Thank you, thank you, thank you, a million times thank you!
Love (I WILL get a private session with you — soon! I’ll fly out to the east coast if I’ll have to!)

That’s your body AFTER BABY? I was seriously admiring it. I kept thinking, “she must not be doing some of the moves because she’s exhausted from her extreme workout that I must not know about yet”. Girl, keep doing what you’re doing, you’re rocking! Muscles and all, super fit, and after baby? Tip of the hat to ya, Elvy.
