Chairs & Barrels Workshop

Watch the preview

In this workshop Victoria Torrie-Capan makes enlightening correlations between the movements we do on the Barrels and those we do on the Chairs, and combines them for maximally effective transitions. Like a Pilates Yin & Yang, the Barrels and Chairs go hand in hand - the Chairs build strength and control while, the Barrels are ideal for teaching students who are tight in the spine, shoulders and neck and need opening in order access their strength. Watch and discover new ways to take advantage of these powerful, body changing apparatus! She is the REAL DEAL!

  4. Thank you Victoria, I am really enjoying your teaching and find it extremely helpful. I specifically enjoy the way you work with the 3 main structures to which the spine is attached and how you use the different apparatus to help strengthen and stabilise. This really makes sense to me. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. So helpful for those of us living in “far off” countries!

Loved this and thanks for sharing Victoria! Ladders and Barrels are movin’ to the front(ish)! Makes sense and I agree; after a long day of work, one can feel very ‘tight’ in the chest and those sticky back/spine areas we all have…so yes, why not get warm and open up these areas up pre-Mat or Reformer so these main workouts are honed deeper? I really liked seeing the different bodies on each barrel and chair; we are all so lovely and different! I’m not a teacher but adhere strictly to the Classical order. Because I have no pre conceived ordering of the apparatus, watching workshops like this are not only enjoyable but give me a deeper understanding of this amazing system. Cheers!

Great use of threading! Really helpful ( thinking homework!) to connect the exercises from barrels to chairs. Opening the mind as well as the body!
