Join Kathi for this dynamic Reformer workout that never stops moving while she gives detailed cues. Kathi pushes you and her student (fellow Instructor Victoria Torrie-Capan), throughout the session, always looking for a deeper connection and never allowing you to coast. The order of exercises she follows for this session is the same one that First Generation teacher Jay Grimes teaches, including advanced exercises such as Headstands, the Backbend after Thigh Stretch, Snake/Twist, Step-Off Control Balance, the 2nd Long Box: Rocking with Straps, Grasshopper, Swimming and finishes the workout with Big Splits. Amazing to work out to, as well as to watch. The few super advanced moves, which I thought were better to watch than to attempt on my own, gave me a short break during this intense workout!

This was totally awesome.. Kathi I would love to work with you! I wish I had the strength and flexibility of Victoria… she is truly one heck of a student! That ‘s what makes brilliant teachers, hey! Thank you so much Kathi and Victoria! And I thought I was strong!

Now you made me schvitz all over my nice clean carpet, and I only got half way through the workout! Fortunately I’ll be able to try again tomorrow. Even on a video you make me work harder. I suppose I should thank you. 🙂

Thank you Kathi for this video. Victoria responded so well to your precise cues and direction. I really love your emphasis on oppositional energy working in the body. There were times when I didn’t even feel Victoria was on a reformer it was as if she was suspended moving with such a sense of lightness! Amazing!

My eyes never moved from my computer screen for this entire 1:21:54 min!!! I learned something new about every-single-exercise performed here!! I concur, Leolady, another stellar learning experience from Kathi on Pilatesology.

Fab cue on the long stretch to reach out without moving shoulders!! I would have liked to see side sit ups in short box – so many versions and interpretations (especially of feet and hip placement) and I know you would have cleared it up. Perhaps in a future video…??

Thank you both for providing another stellar learning experience!! Kathi your generosity is boundless.

It depends on the position of the legs and what the exercise is as to what rotation is used. And with this said- it is not an absolute. I always take the body in front of me into consideration… fortunately Victoria is AMAZING!!! so it was one heck of a body!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Lady is one strong practitioner and demonstrates stretch, strength and control so very very well. Took many precision points from the excellent teaching that I can work on in my matwork.
You shared with us that “the pelvis has more ability to pull back when your legs are in parallel”. Perhaps, that is one of the reasons why Mr Pilates is said to have worked in parallel?
Thank you for sharing your great depth of knowledge, within the execution, of each exercise.
