Hi! this was very helpful thank you! I don’t know if you’re still answering on this post but wanted to ask if Dr Bronners is a suitable cleaning agent for the aluminum and upholstery? thanx

Hi! I have a Pilates Designs Reformer. Close to Gratz but still different. Will the studio maintenance kit be the same for that or should I make any adjustments to the list?

    • Alisa Wyatt

The studio maintenance kit will be the same for your Pilates Designs Reformer–there are no differences in the tools you’ll need.

Hi Regina, Thank you for this video! The side wheels on my new (July 2018) Gratz reformer don’t touch in most places. They sometimes touch on 3 of the wheels when the carriage is all the way out. I know because I took off all the springs and got underneath the reformer and watched the wheels as I moved the carriage out and in. The ride has always felt a bit bumpy and not smooth, but I thought this might be characteristic of Gratz because I’m new to classical apparatus.. It’s extremely clean, with no dirt, hair, grease, etc on the rails. The wheels look as if they aren’t drilled equally in all places. My questions is, are the side wheels meant to be in contact with the reformer at all times? And if so, might there be a way to fix this problem without having to send the carriage back?

      HI Laura!
Oh- I answered this in your cadillac comment : )
Yes- it’s natural to have space on the side wheels- those are just guide wheels. If you feel like the carriage has too much play though and/or the carriage is actually hitting the frame then you can actually loosen those wheel bolts and move the wheels- they are made with a ‘fine tuning’ spacer provided – loosen the bolt and move the little black spacer over. Flush with the frame of the carriage is usually right . you just need to make sure you use the washers in the exactly same way- with the little potato chip in the same place.
Just a word about Gratz- since each piece is handmade each reformer is slightly different and each carriage is fit to each frame one by one : )

Hi from Portugal! Do you do the same to the wheels of the straps? They make a horrible sound!
    Thank you 🙂

Yes, I would recommend doing the same thing for the 2 strap wheels! 🙂
