Myriam Lopez

Raised in Madrid, Myriam moved to New York in the mid-nineties to advance a career in advertising. After almost three decades in the entertainment and media industries - and ten years of Pilates practice - she shifted her focus to the wellness industry inspired by the positive changes the method had brought to her everyday. In 2017 she bought a semi-abandoned bank building in upstate New York and returned it to the community as a Pilates studio. ​Enter Catskills Pilates. In 2022 Myriam moved back to the mountains of her childhood outside Madrid and re opened Catskills Pilates, as a home studio. Myriam is a third generation teacher, NPCT and a proud graduate of the prestigious Alycea Ungaro´s Real Pilates Comprehensive Teacher Training, she also holds certificates in pre-post natal Pilates by Core Pilates and East River Pilates, Sonje Mayo's Ultimate Tower by Peak Pilates and a diploma on Rehabilitative Pilates by the London College of Osteopathy. Myriam is the director of Catskills Pilates Classical Mat Teacher Training, a 120 hours innovative program that brings together the 34 classical mat repertoire with contemporary modifications and a very hands on approach to passing on the classical Pilates torch.
