A passionate professional instructor of Pilates for over 20 years, Desiree began doing Pilates in 1994 following a car accident. She immediately fell in love with the work. After taking lessons from Stephen Frease and Steve Giordano, she began teacher training in 1998 at The Pilates Center in Boulder, Colorado under Amy Taylor Alpers & Rachel Taylor Segel. She completed her initial training in 1999, master's training in 2008 and served on staff at The Pilates Center for over 10 years. Desiree has been teaching at Functional Strength Pilates in Lone Tree, Colorado since 2007 and purchased the studio in 2016. She founded and directs the teacher training program at Functional Strength Pilates, mentoring and guiding many students through unique in-depth Classical Pilates teacher training. In addition to working with Advanced students and teachers, she has worked with countless people experiencing severe limitations in their movement health and has walked the long, slow road to movement recovery with hundreds of clients. She has extensive experience leading workshops for teacher training, continuing education and professional development. Desiree travels frequently and has delighted in teaching at many studios throughout the U.S. and Europe. She teaches in English, French & Spanish.
