For this workout, Kara uses a long pole for a few of the exercises to help illustrate how to twist from the waist. You can use a towel or a broomstick or simply use Kara’s example to deepen the work. Kara’s attention to the important details of form is key to her beautiful execution, and practicing with her makes even the most basic exercises feel like a transformative experience. She adds several fun, energizing variations from Romana in the leg kicks series and completes almost the entire mat in a quick ½ hour. This class was filmed at Kara Wily Pilates in Los Angeles.

    Love this workout, Kara is not speaking that much, ( only important things to understand what she is doing)

    Kara Wily loved your class- great short workout- Loved using the pole. I wished you would do a workout using other props- like foam roller, and exercise ball. Sometimes just more fun using simple props if you don’t have the expensive large equipment and only your mat.

    Dear Kara:
    When you speak about the importance of the “knees in this exercise”when lying prone in the “set up”, do you actually mean to elevate your knees off the mat, and in effect have your big toes scraping the mat behind through the knee elevation, and reach both legs long out of the hips? Why is this cue so important when attempting to do this very challenging exercise?
