    Fanstastic class Sonje, thank you so much! I learnt so much! My muscles trembled when I applied your corrections, meaning they had to work from a different alignment they usually do. Also lengthening the tail, as you explain so well in your interviews, makes such a difference. Even during the mat I felt the chronic pain in my hip muscles vanish. The pain was still gone when I got up and walked around after class! Just one question: what do you mean when you cue “Above your hip” – do you mean direction the waist? Greetings from Berlin :)))

      Guten Tag Berlin! Thank you….. Delighted to hear that the pain in your hip muscles disappeared.
      “Above the hip” means that one should initiate the roll by deepening the C curve and NOT by tucking. Sometimes I say ‘deepen the ribs’ or ‘aim for the back of the waist’ on the mat.
      So you are correct in understanding ‘Above the hip’ as moving in the direction of the waist.
      The different cues in this case will also depend on what part of the C-curve needs more attention……it is a never-ending challenge!!

    I loved this class and learned so much. The pre-pilates portion really helped me get ready for the rest of the practice.
