    This was a brilliant class. Everyone is so sensitive these days, and yes speech changes with the times, but it was clear to me Sonje’s intention was never to belittle anyone.
    Sonje your cues are fantastic! I learn something with every class of yours. I also loved that you taught the transitions because with all the various training that I have done, this was something that was never emphasized. It certainly helps to know these to get the seamless flow. Thank you.

      More important I am so pleased you now have the transitions to improve the flow, stamina and concentration!

    This is an excellent class, but I must be honest that I would be hesitant to take a class from this instructor again because of her focus on being “long and slim” belittling her students. Constantly referring to one student as “little one” and warning her about “thunder thighs” is just not OK in 2020. This instructor needs to educate herself about body positivity and feminism and refrain from belittling terms like “girls” as she speaks to grown adult women.

      You are quite correct and I apologize for my inference which was not intended to belittle ot insult anyone.
      I only want the best for everyone that I teach and I am sorry that you construed this as negative.
      Of course I will change my manner of speech in future.

    Nice class but could do without the comments to the younger girl about “thunder thighs” and constant reminders of “long lean muscles”. This is a recipe for encouraging an eating disorder.

      Sorry but I think you misunderstood my intention here.
      Neither of these girls have ‘thunder thighs’ and I always encourage all clients to “drive the carriage from the center” so as not to power up the legs unneccessarily.
      As Joe aptly put it: “we strive for a balance between strength and elongation”
      You are correct in that I should change my terminology in case someone misconstrues my intention.
