MeJo often gets asked by students how the Gratz apparatus is different than other Pilates apparatus. In this mini workshop she demonstrates how the exercises are altered when changes to the apparatus take place. You’ll see for instance how if you change the angle of the strap by putting it up on risers, it changes the angle of every arm exercise, or how the gear placement alters how much work is required to pull the carriage back in—a crucial element in the Pilates method. It's fascinating information that will help you get more out of your Gratz as well as show why Joe built it the way he did. Filmed at Alycea Ungaro’s Real Pilates™, New York, NY.

Love MeJo. I first met her in Seattle at the pilates conference at metropolitan pilates studio. She’s amazing! Really loved her arm chair knowledge. Game changer.

Mejo thank you for doing this video! Personally, my journey as student and teacher of the method I finally feel “home” having been mentored by classical teachers here on Pilatesology, but also training in NYC with Brooke Siler and Cary Regan. I had never heard about Gratz and equipped my studio with more contemporary styled apparatuses. I always knew deep down there was something not right – like the method was not married to the equipment! I am in the process outfitting my studio with all Gratz apparatuses.
    Thank you
