In this observational video for teachers, Jay Grimes demonstrates his approach to improving movement integration. His student, Murat Berkin, is a former ballet dancer and Pilates Instructor whose powerful upper body, legs and center don't communicate with each other. Jay shows a selection of exercises and cues aimed at getting Murat's body better integrated, thereby reducing unnecessary tension and transferring strength efficiently. Find out more about working with Jay Grimes at www.VintagePilates.com and you can join them both at Murat's upcoming: Classical Pilates Conference Istanbul.

    Jay and Murat,
This was a pleasure to watch. Really lovely to see a strong capable body challenged with exercises we teach all the time and really digging into how all the exercises are the same connections working in different ways. You know I can’t get enough of this stuff!
    Uhm, more please?

I can never get enough of Jay! I hope we get to see more of him soon. It’s so nice to see more men on here.

Mr Murat Berkin is a very capable Gentleman indeed. That became immediately apparent when he performed the Twist on the Wunda Chair so well after Jay removed the springs.
As a mat practitioner, I particularly like the amount of emphasis Jay places on getting into the back muscles.
Nice to see Jay Instructing from Alisa Wyatt’s beautiful studio!
Wonder – where was she hiding!

    • joesmat 6 years ago

P.S. Wonder if Alisa has a video coming up with Mr Berkin performing the Mat!

      • Alisa Wyatt

Hi Colin, I’m hiding over by the camera in this video ;).
We don’t have a video with Murat on the mat–yet! I’ll work on that for you.

Thank you very much indeed Alisa.
I would really like to observe and follow this Gentleman on the mat.
He is a standard of excellence really.
