Lori brings a feeling of lightness and fun to the advanced Pilates mat with this uplifting class! As always, her clear cues and techniques for positioning your body are at work to help you get more out of your workout. There’s some surprise moves taken from the Reformer in here as well as a great option to try a backbend and more. Lori's 2 students finish with a playful, controlled handstand using each other's feet to balance against; if you're alone, you can try going upside down using a wall. This is the kind of workout that leaves you feeling accomplished and looking forward to next time, when you’ll have a chance to do it even better. Visit Lori at Atlas Pilates in Seattle, Washington where this class was filmed.

As always, I love Lori’s wonderful cues for transitioning from one exercise into the next (loved the cue to “cartwheel” from the kneeling side kicks into the other side, and starting the star from the push up position to get the feet and hands the proper distance apart (not to mention the high bridge finish from the star). Brava!

As a humble mat fella, I want to thank you Lori Coleman Brown for showing the prep exercises for the HIGH BRIDGE and also for CONTROL BALANCE. Been trying to find out everything there is about Romana Kryzanowska’s mat since 2005 and never come across these prep movements before. Now I have a base to work from.
Also, the placement of the “nerve” part of the elbows against the wall and crack a nut BRIDGE prep was simply brilliant. The ELEPHANT variation, and the back to back exercise into a CHAIR position and bending the knees at the end was simply outstanding.

Your two lady Instructors demonstrating the work are truly excellent. Courtney is very talented.

    More of this please!

Hi. I’m always thinking of ways to help people (and myself) with steps to do the big fun exercises. I’m glad you like it. Courtney and Liesbeth are wonderful to work with. Courtney has been working on her “around the world” backbend, so I’ll be sure to show her off on the next video.
