If you’re able to strongly articulate your spine but your bendy body could use more support, Kathi is here to help with this Intermediate workout focused on pelvic stability. You’ll learn that slow and steady wins the stability game as Kathi removes all of the common cheats that happen when you're not fully engaged. Instead you’ll be surprised at how deeply you can work and how strong it feels to move without momentum. If you’re not ready for the difficulty of this Intermediate class, try Kathi’s earlier class, Pelvic Stability Mat which teaches the same stabilization techniques at a Beginner level. Thanks to Dana Santi and Colleen Naughton Strong at The Pilates Core in LaGrange, IL where this class was filmed. Fantastic workout! I just started my intermediate classes with this one and now like pilates even more.
However, having no gratz mat at home, was a little bit confused during the exercises where you hold the bars. Where should i keep my hands when i don’t have the bars attched to my mat?
And only hope you will do more videos for advanced beginners 🙂

Hi Katarzyna, I’m so glad you’re enjoying the Intermediate classes! To answer your question–if you don’t have bars available to you, you can try 3 things: 1) keep your arms by your sides when Kathi’s using the bars, this is generally how we do it when not using a mat with bars, 2) reach your arms back as if there are bars to hold onto (don’t do this if your shoulders don’t like it though), 3) set yourself up so there’s something behind you to hold like the legs of a heavy chair.
Holding the bars does a some great things for your body but you will still get fantastic benefits from the class if you don’t have them.

Another great mat lesson from KRN!
Never heard of the “DIAPER (SP) on the mat before. I think it holds a lot of integrity for strengthening the muscles along the spine. A terrific contribution. Once again thank you very much for sharing.
