Kathi shares her personal workout on the mat that was designed by Gratz at her request: the KRN Contour Mat. It’s like a mat with a Small Barrel at the end (you can substitute a Small Barrel if you don’t have the Contour Mat). The purpose of the hump is to both elevate the handles for those with tighter shoulders and to provide support and stretch for the shoulders and hips.     I only have a Mat for my practice.
    I constantly work on the posterior chain group of muscles to give me the requisite support.

    I love how you keep your bottom heel anchored in all the side lying work. What great prep work for your side bend. 😉 Just got my “hump mat” today! Can’t wait to play tomorrow!

    Thank you for the innovative mat. Don’t have a Contour Mat, but, it was interesting to do on a Free Mat with the head up.

    Always feels so good! Always forget how good the stomach series is done against the hump. I have a naughty side, and I immediately feel much more even after doing the stomach series this way.
