    Hi Alisa,
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful story and video!!!! Although I knew you worked with Stephani, I wasn’t aware of this video until today when a local (Birmingham, AL) Pilates Instructor told me about it. I’m still plugging away and will be forever grateful to you for your encouragement!

Susan it’s great to hear from you!! I’m so happy that you’re still at it and hope Pilates is paying off for you as well. Stephani went to Sochi but ended up having a terrible crash during her first race due to the miserable snow conditions but all of her own hard work during training made her able to recover quickly and she’s back on the slopes now. Another reason to keep working out!

Hi Erin! I agree, Stephani is a total inspiration just by living her life. I think sometimes it must get really tiring for her to show up and have to be the center of attention but it reminds me that we all are serving as an example to others in everything we do.
Hope to see you soon too!!

Thanks Susanna, I have to mention that Stephani does her own workout almost every day in addition to her studio workouts. That consistency makes my job really easy.

  5. Wow, amazing! I was having a very difficult day, then I watched this video and it really put things in perspective. Thanks for sharing and great work Alisa with Stephani.

WOW!! Alisa and Stephani, thank you so much for sharing this. I too lost a limb unexpectedly, although very recently. I was a Pilates enthusiast before and one of my first thoughts when I learned I was going to lose my leg was Can I still do Pilates? I had actually used Pilatesology before it happened to keep up my practice and now use it as part of my rehab. And the answer is, Yes I can do it! I am not sure I have a Gold medal in my future but Sefani’s story has me thinking…;)

    • Alisa Wyatt Author

Lseidell yes you can!! The possibilities are whatever you can imagine, and already you are proving that your body is incredibly resilient just by believing that you can still move the way you did before your loss. I would love to know more about your journey and how Pilates is helping you, would you be interested in sharing more?–if so, please send me a note at: alisa@pilatesology.com. Thank you so much for your comments, it means the world to Stephani to hear that her own story is meaningful.
