Susan Hankinson

I am one of a team of certified Pilates teachers at The Pilates Center of Goucher College. Our acting director, Lizzy Purcell, Stephanie Lawson, Barb Palmer, and myself work with the students and with the Goucher College community of faculty and staff as well as clientele from the Maryland area. We are proud to be one of the best Pilates studios in the state of Maryland. Elizabeth Ahearn is our Founding Director. Next year will mark the 20th anniversary of the Pilates Center. Elizabeth and I have the proud honor of learning Pilates directly from Romana. I have also had the privilege of learning from Jay Grimes and the late Kathy Grant. Our mission at Goucher College is to bring Pilates to all of the students on campus. We work with the Equestrian team and the swimming team currently. Private lessons and all classes are free for the students. We want to carry on the dream that Mr. Pilates never was able to achieve.....bring his method of Contrology into the educational system. Elizabeth Ahearn has spearheaded this mission for the last 20 years.
