Lauren W. Kearns, M.F.A., E-RYT 500, YACEP, PMA is a choreographer, dancer, and somatic specialist. She has composed over fifty professionally produced concert pieces that have been presented throughout the U.S.A., Europe, and Asia. Kearns is the artistic director of The Kearns Dance Project, a professional dance company based in North Carolina, U.S.A. In addition to her dance career, Lauren is a professor of dance, the founding coordinator of the dance program, and the associate chair of the Elon University Performing Arts Department. She is a somatics specialist and scholar. Her book "Somatics in Action: A Mindful and Physical Conditioning Tool for Movers" will be out in late 2017. Lauren loves the Pilates method because it empowers the body, enhances the body-mind connection, and allows movers to reach their potential.
