Karen Winselmann

KAREN WINSELMANN Studio Owner | Lead Trainer Karen Winselmann is the lead trainer and studio owner of Pure Pilates. Her repertoire includes a certification from both the Pilates Studio of New York Certification Program (2003) and the title of Instructor Trainer from Romana’s Pilates Instructor Training Program (2009). Prior to her journey as a Pilates instructor, Karen taught ballet and agility training to the Florida A&M University football team. She held a Human Resources corporate position at WR Grace and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University in International Business. After some time in the corporate world, Karen found her true calling in building her own studio to teach the art of movement. Hence, Pure Pilates was born in 2006 to facilitate that love, and to spread the classical body conditioning method created by Joseph Pilates to future generations. Since the opening of Pure Pilates, 20+ Pilates instructors have been certified through the RPTT program. Pure Pilates is a proud host of the Real Pilates Teacher Training program (a branch of Alycea Ungaro’s Real Pilates), where Karen serves as Lead Teacher Trainer (2019). Besides teacher training, Pure Pilates counts professional athletes (NFL, MLB, and NBA) as well as pre-professional and professional dancers as part of the client base. Karen also has a weekly Pilates Pro class dedicated to local teachers in the South Florida area (regardless of certification). Fun Fact: Karen has trained the British Olympic Swim Team for two years in a row!
