​Heather is a BASI certified Pilates Instructor with a Dance Specialization, an AFAA certified Personal Trainer/Group Fitness Instructor, a Certified Movement Analyst through Integrated Movement Studies and a Level 1 Certified Neurokinetic Therapy Practitioner. ​Before relocating to San Francisco in 2010, Heather taught Pilates for the University of Utah Men’s Swim Team and designed supplemental fitness programs for the Illinois Police Corp Academy at Western Illinois University. She graduated from WIU in 2003 with a Masters Degree in Kinesiology and studied Modern Dance in the graduate studies program at the University of Utah. At Body Chemistry Studio in San Francisco Heather teaches group Reformer classes that are physically and mentally vigorous to illustrate her philosophy that smarter bodies improve faster and are better equipped to avoid injury and heal. She teaches multi-modality group fitness classes for Crunch and Fitness SF in San Francisco and dances professionally with Kristin Damrow & Company and Deborah Slater Dance Theater. ​ ​Heather is currently pursuing a certification in Structural Integration with Tom Myers at the Kinesis School for Structural Integration in Walpole, Maine and is a student of Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT) with David Weinstock. Heather offers solo and partner lessons that combine these modalities with Pilates to create movement experiences that address clients' specific challenges. Heather has experience working with post-op hip replacements, scoliosis, vertebral disc injuries, whip lash, severe sprains and dislocations, frozen shoulders, pre-/post-natal clients and elite athletes/dancers.
