Profile

Enja is certified by Bob Liekens and worked by his side for 8 years. Her expertise is the deep, makes-you-smile, full range of classical Pilates. Her clients are as diverse as classical Pilates is adaptable: M.S. patients, persons with chronic and/or acute conditions or injuries, athletes and Pilates teachers who want to advance their advanced repertoire. Over the years Enja has earned several specializations, such as working with movement impaired clients and the rehabilitation of many types of spinal conditions. In 2009 Enja was invited to become teacher-of-teachers under Bob Liekens’ guidance, a year-long program that enables her to mentor Pilates apprentices and junior teachers in the classical Pilates repertoire. She also teaches workshops to Pilates teachers and fitness professionals in Pilates conferences and fitness industry summits. Enja completed her M.S. in Exercise Science June 1, 2016 at Brooklyn College, with an emphasis in biomechanics and biomechanical research under Dr. Ben Johnson (chair of the Kinesiology department at the University of Kentucky). She is currently preparing for the NSCA-CSCS® certification, the gold standard for strength and conditioning specialists. She also studied with Irene Dowd and Leslie Kaminoff, both renowned movement anatomists. Enja trains regularly with master teachers Jerome Weinberg, Cynthia Shipley and, of course, Bob Liekens. She also tries to catch elder Jay Grimes when he is in town.
