Arlene Salomon, owner of Bodywork & Pilates Maui, Hawaii is a Pilates teacher as well as a professional from several other art & science disciplines- Tree Biologist, Massage Therapist and Visual Artist. Her experience brings a unique point of view to the art of teaching Pilates, for Arlene, trees and people are of particular interest. The body language of trees and humans are vastly different, however the similarities in relation to overall health, structural stability, and movement makes for some exciting observation. Arlene is classically trained, practicing since 2002 and teaching since 2010. She is a graduate of The Work, a very selective masters program directed by Jay Grimes at Vintage Pilates in Los Angeles and she currently studies privately with world-class instructor Sandy Shimoda. Arlene has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in N.Y.C., earned her Arborist Certification through the International Society of Arboriculture, graduated from the Maui Academy of Healing Arts and is a licensed Massage Therapist and Certified Member of Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals.
