Amy Garner

Amy is co-founder of Pilates Haven, New Haven's only classical Pilates studio! Amy loved Pilates from the very first time she was introduced to the method. Almost a decade ago, her fiance (now husband), John McCarthy, suggested they try a duet together with his Pilates instructor, Pam Pardi. It was hard for Amy-- she was weak and hyper-mobile-- but she loved every minute of their lessons. Over the years, Pilates has changed her body, giving her strength and stability. Just as it has for so many others, Pilates helped Amy recover from severe medical trauma. It truly changed her life. Now both Romana's Pilates Instructors, Amy and John love sharing their love of the method at Pilates Haven. They clients of all ages and abilities, and Amy is also a Pre & Post Natal Pilates Specialist (certified through The Center For Women's Fitness). They love taking continuing education workshops and, most importantly, always want to stay students by taking lessons themselves.
