Are you tortured by teaching stomach massage to clients who are overweight, stiff or tall? Zoë Hagler's tips will give you easy-to-use variations for when your clients can’t get their feet on the bar, can’t reach the front of the carriage, can’t round or lift their back or can’t get their hands to the shoulder blocks. You’ll also learn how to ensure that they are using their Powerhouse to move the carriage not just their legs. Finally she shows the One Leg Variation for building strength after a leg injury, how to gear out the carriage for tall people, and how to use the frame instead of the bar to push out for clients who are frail or so tight that they can’t get their feet up. Get Zoë’s tips for flexible folks here. Visit Zoë for private lessons, workshops and teacher training in Pasadena, CA at Zoë: A Pilates Studio.

You're welcome! There's so much going on in this exercise, it can be hard to teach! I hope the tips are helpful.

Sure! Glad you liked it. Romana used to say she could write a book about Stomach Massage. I wish she had! 🙂

I'm so glad you showed the one on the frame, because I have a client in his eighties also and that is where I put his feet. Thank you so much for these wonderful tips!

Yes, I do the same with elderly clients . It's just so much easier for them to safely get in and out of the position. Glad to hear the tips are useful. 🙂
